Arizona Diamondbacks vs Los Angeles Dodgers game 3 Recap

Final score: 3-2, Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers played the rubber match in a finale with the Arizona Diamondbacks early Wednesday before heading back to L.A. The ace of the staff, Clayton Kershaw got the start for the Dodgers looking to get his tenth win, and he did just that. Kershaw pitched 7 1/3 solid innings allowing two runs off of five hits, while striking out 11 and walking one.

Joe Blanton held down the rest of the 8th inning and Kenley Jansen took the mound in the 9th. Jansen tied Eric Gagne for all time saves in a Dodgers uniform with 161 and save number 20 on the season will officially pass him.

The offense was pretty quiet up until the 6th inning where the Dodgers had a couple two-out singles and a huge three-run home run from Scott Van Slyke, putting the Dodgers up for good.

Game Analysis:

This was a great way to end the divisional road trip for the Dodgers taking the last two games after losing 3 tough ones in a row.

Van Slyke had a couple of great hits in this game and hopefully we will start to see a little pop in his bat as well.

Tomorrow, the Dodgers will be back at Chavez Ravine to start a series with the Milwaukee Brewers. Scott Kazmir will be up against Junior Guerra in a series the Dodgers definitely hope to take.

Dodgers RBIs

Scott Van Slyke 3 (5)
