Final Score: 2-1, Cubs
Wednesday night the Los Angeles Dodgers took on the Chicago Cubs for the third match of the four-game series. Mike Bolsinger pitched and pitched well, with his only blemish being a two-run home run given up to Kris Bryant which ultimately sunk the Dodgers as they couldn’t muster up more than one run. Bolsinger finished his night going five innings, allowing two runs and striking out six batters. Although Bolsinger was solid overall, he was a little wild at times hitting two batters this outing.
The Dodgers bullpen held strong as well, pitching three scoreless frames. The game looked like the Dodgers would be able to get to Lester because of a leadoff shot in the first inning by Kiké Hernandez but their offense couldn’t get anything going after that and Lester finished a complete game.
This was a close game for the Dodgers that should have been won, but the offense couldn’t do it against Lester. Today’s game will be the last of the series in the morning. Julio Urias is taking Kenta Maeda’s spot in the rotation as Maeda is pushed to tomorrow. Urias will be up against Cubs’ Kyle Hendricks.
