Dodgers’ Bats Lead Comeback Over Orioles

Final Score: 7-5, Dodgers

The Baltimore Orioles were at Dodger Stadium for the first time since 2004 taking on the Los Angeles for the 4th of July game. Julio Urias was up against Yovani Gallardo. Urias struggled early, going 3 1/3 innings allowing five runs off six hits while walking two and striking out three. He would leave losing the game.

The bullpen came in and was spot on. They did not allow another run which allowed the Dodgers offense to take charge.

After being down as many as three runs twice the Dodgers battled back with a couple of solo shots from Yasiel Puig and Yasmani Grandal as well as great hitting from Chase Utley. The Dodgers went on to overcome their mid-game deficits and win by two runs.

Game Analysis:

The offense really battled in this game after a poor start by Urias. Going into the bottom of the 2nd the Dodgers were down 3-0 and by the 4th they were losing 5-2. It looked like a real obstacle but the offense never gave up, showing how much everyone is stepping up while Clayton Kershaw is on the DL.

Tuesday, the Dodgers will continue the series with the Orioles and Kenta Maeda will be up against Chris Tillman. The Dodgers will be looking for their 6th straight win.
