Dodgers Shut Out In Ryu’s Return

Final Score: 6-0, Padres

The Los Angeles Dodgers started a series with the San Diego Padres last night with Hyun-Jin Ryu on the mound for the first time in almost 2 years. His comeback wasn’t perfect, but he did have some great pitches and shown signs of his old self. Ryu went 4 2/3 innings allowing six runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out four. Ryu left the game losing 6-0.

Casey Fien pitched the rest of the inning and newly called up Carlos Frias pitched four solid scoreless innings. He only allowed two hits and and struck out three batters.

The offense was absent the entire game. Two hits from Howie Kendrick and Trayce Thompson was all the Dodgers could muster up against Padres pitcher Drew Pomeranz.

The Dodgers will continue the series with San Diego tonight as Scott Kazmir will be on the mound against Andrew Cashner.
