Game recognize game, which is the case with Kevin Durant who took the time to show love to Los Angeles Lakers rookie Kyle Kuzma with a shoutout on Twitter.
If you’ve been paying attention to Summer League, which ESPN ratings prove you have, then you noticed the Lakers had two standout players in the League. Everyone knows about the Lonzo Ball effect and found out the hype is real, but what people also figured out was who the heck Kyle Kuzma is.
Kuzma had a hell of a coming out party with L.A., leading the Lakers in scoring in the Summer League. Kuzma averaged 21.9 ppg on 51.4 percent shooting including 48 percent from three. In the Summer League Championship, he put up 30 points and grabbed 10 boards in route to being named the Summer League championship MVP.
The Lakers are certainly excited about their new prospect who may very well be the steal of this year’s draft, but no one was more excited than Kuzma himself. He took to Instagram to show off his hardware.
Another champion and Finals MVP noticed Kuzma’s self love and decided to show his support. Kevin Durant replied to Kuzma’s post with a Twitter shoutout.
Oh yea “you can call me anything but don’t forget to call me an MVP and a champ”-Kuzma

Kuzma then sent a tweet back to KD showing love for the acknowledgment.

Kuzma is having a great week. First winning a Summer League championship with his team. Being named the Championship MVP. Then getting a shoutout from KD and now has been added to the Nike family.
He sure is having a sweet start to his NBA career and having fun while doing it. Something tells me this kid is a winner and his Summer League performance is just the beginning of an all-star career.
