Kevin Durant speaks out on Kyrie Irving, Cavaliers trade fiasco

Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers trade circus has been circulating the news cycle, and Kevin Durant is the latest person to chime in on the drama.

Kyrie Irving shocked the sports world and made headlines when it leaked that he’d recently asked the Cavaliers for a trade. Since then reports have surfaced every day regarding the situation in Cleveland. Irving and his camp reportedly think that LeBron James and his camp leaked the news to the media, which James denies.

LeBron in turn feels like his name is being ran through the mud unfairly and reportedly felt like “Beating Kyrie’s ass” because of it. Kyrie then unfollowed James on Instagram and even trolled him on social media by singing “I’m coming home” in a video. To make things messier, Irving is reportedly not returning any calls from the Cavs organization.

Kevin Durant attended a news conference Friday in Noida, India and weighed in on the turmoil in Cleveland.

“I really don’t care about the Kyrie Irving situation. I just want guys in the league to be happy wherever they’re playing and have some fun playing ball. Wherever that is for Kyrie, I hope he finds that.”

Durant knows what it’s like to want to go elsewhere and be in a situation where you’re happy. It makes sense then that he would show support for guys in the league just doing what’s best for them.

The Irving-Cavs drama will continue and more people are likely to have their opinion. Where Kyrie ends up no one knows and he may very well stay in Cleveland if the Cavaliers refuse to trade him.
