Just over a month before the official drop of his very own signature shoe, Lonzo Ball has redesigned the ZO2 primes and teases the ZO2 remix in their place.
In collaboration with Slam, Los Angeles Lakers point guard, Lonzo Ball, released a video introducing his signature shoe. Not the ZO2s previously sold and worn by Lonzo, but a whole new shoe, the ZO2 Remix.
In the Slam video, Lonzo says Big Baller Brand was inspired by fans and support from celebrities via social media to reinvent the shoe. Now, Lonzo claims Big Baller Brand has designed the “lightest basketball shoe ever made.”
Lonzo Ball gets just as much hype and attention off the court as he does on it. In fairness to him, so far he’s backed it all up with his play.
All of it–the signature shoe, the Triple B clothing line, the reality show and even the music endeavors, can be attributed to his dad, LaVar Ball’s genius plan to take over the world. Well, the basketball world at least.
During Summer League in Las Vegas, Lonzo was named the tournament MVP. But what really made headlines were his shoes, or lack of his shoes to be exact.
Lonzo played in Nike, Adidas, Under Armour and Jordan brand shoes after playing subpar games in the ZO2s.
Ball admitted that the reason he played in different shoes was to start a bidding war between the companies that LaVar said Lonzo would sign with for “the right price.”
So far Lonzo has no deal in place with a major shoe company so perhaps his redesigned signature shoe is performance inspired just as much as fan inspired.
Hopefully for Triple B, the newly designed ZO2 Remix is a shoe Lonzo can ball in to quiet the haters.
