The Los Angeles Dodgers started a series with the Colorado Rockies last night, and it was a downer for the boys in blue. Mike Bolsinger got the start for L.A. and struggled. The first few innings weren’t bad, but by the 6th inning, he had allowed six runs with his final batter hitting a three-run home run off of him. Bolsinger finished his night having pitched 5 1/3 innings, gave up six earned runs on seven hits while allowing two walks and striking out five.
The bullpen did their job and did not allow another run from the Rockies high powered offense. The issue with this game wasn’t Bolsinger, it was the stagnant offense. The Dodgers got one hit once and only one run once again.
This was a bad game all around after such a statement game to close the series with the Atlanta Braves. The only excuse I have for them is that Tyler Chatwood has been solid this year on the road and has under a 1.00 ERA.
The Dodgers will play again today. Julio Urias will be making his third major league start, this time in front of the home crowd. He’ll be up against Eddie Butler.
