Los Angeles Dodgers vs Milwaukee Brewers Series Finale

Final score: 2-1, Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers played the final game of the series with Milwaukee Brewers Sunday looking for a series win after taking two of the first three games. Kenta Maeda got the nod and his pitch count got high very early. He gave up a first inning home run to Scooter Gennett but that would be it. He lasted 6 1/3 innings allowing one run off six hits while walking three and striking out eight. Maeda would leave the game losing 1-0 but ended with a no-decision.

Pedro Baez and Kenley Jansen held down the fort after Maeda exited and allowed no base runners.

The offense was absent for the Dodgers up until the 8th inning when Kiké Hernandez blasted a solo home run to tie the game, 1-1. Then in the bottom of the 9th Yasmani Grandal came to the plate to pinch hit for A.J. Ellis and was walked with the bases loaded for a walk-off that gave the Dodgers the series win.

Game Analysis:

This was a great way to finish out the weekend and get ready for the Washington Nationals who will be coming into town today. Hernandez was able to break out of his slump and tie the game, bringing the energy back to both the stadium and the team on the way to the victory.

Today will be a great matchup between Clayton Kershaw and Stephen Strasburg facing off, both with 10 wins thus far.
