The Los Angeles Dodgers played the third of a four-game series they are playing at Chavez Ravine against the New York Mets. Kenta Maeda started for the Dodgers and had a decent outing. He made two huge mistakes, however, by giving up two homers to Noah Syndergaard. Syndergaard picked up all four RBIs for the Mets Wednesday, single-handedly sinking the Dodgers. Maeda ended his night allowing four runs on six hits while walking two and striking out only three Mets batters.
The bullpen held the Mets back after their hot start, but the Dodgers couldn’t complete a comeback. They only scored one run with the game on the line in the 9th inning and fell in a close one once again at home.
This was a hard game for LA to lose because Maeda did not pitch poorly by any means, Syndergaard just overpowered him. The Dodgers are also continuing their scoring slump. They haven’t scored more than three runs this series which is bad considering they are at home. The Dodgers will get one more crack at the Mets tomorrow as their ace Clayton Kershaw gets the start against Bartolo Colon.
Final Score: 4-3 Mets.
Corey Seager 1 (16)
Yasmani Grandal 1 (9)
Joc Pederson 1 (15)
