Los Angeles Dodgers vs St. Louis Cardinals Game 2 Recap

Final Score: 5-3, Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers played the second game of the series with the St. Louis Cardinals last night with Scott Kazmir on the mound. Kazmir has been struggling since his first start but the performance he put on last night was stellar. Kazmir worked 8 2/3 innings, allowing three runs (one unearned) while walking one and striking out seven. Two of his runs given up were in the top of the ninth inning in the form of a two-run home run forcing him from the game.

Kenley Jansen came in and finished off the game for LA earning his 13th save this season, but Kazmir earned the win making him 3-3 on the season.

The Dodger offense held it’s weight again. Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez  has been very good this season, which makes the Dodgers four runs scored off of him pretty impressive. Corey Seager had three hits in this game including a home run bringing his average up to a great mark of .283 so far this season.

The Dodgers pitching has really picked up the pace and was the key to yesterday’s victory. All of the starters and relievers seem to be meshing well which is great support for their offense which is beginning to pick up. The Dodgers now have a chance to sweep the Cardinals as the finale of this series kicks off tonight. Dodgers’ Alex Wood starts against Cardinals’ Mike Leake. Wood has been great at home and looks to continue that for LA!

Dodgers RBIs

Adrian Gonzalez 2 (20)

Corey Seager 2 (18)

Justin Turner 1 (9)

Dodgers Home Runs

Adrian Gonzalez 1 (4)

Corey Seager 1 (4)
