Los Angeles Dodgers vs Washington Nationals Game 2 Recap

Final score: 3-2, Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Washington Nationals were back at it again Tuesday night this time with Scott Kazmir and Tanner Roark on the mound. Kazmir pitched a very decent game. He went six innings only allowing two runs off eight hits while walking one and striking out four. Kazmir would leave the game losing 2-0 as the Dodgers couldn’t get anything going.

Adam Liberatore and Luis Coleman held the game down for the Dodgers after Kazmir was removed.

Howie Kendrick made a great play that saved another run in the top of the 8th with a strike to the plate to nab a slow Wilson Ramos trying to score.

In the bottom of the 8th inning, Joc Pederson drew a leadoff walk and Yasiel Puig hit a squeaker single right over the glove of Danny Espinosa putting the Dodgers on first and second with Yasmani Grandal up at the plate. Grandal hit a bomb to centerfield to put the Dodgers up 3-2 late, and Kenley Jansen closed out the game by initiating three groundouts, including one from Bryce Harper.

Game Analysis:

The Dodgers have already earned a series win against one of the toughest teams in the national league. Kazmir has been looking a lot better and this offense (even though it was late today) is starting to build off of one another and doesn’t just give up late in games.

Wednesday will be the final game of the series with the Nats. Julio Urias will be on the mound tomorrow against Nationals’ Joe Ross looking for a sweep.

Dodgers RBIs

Yasmani Grandal 3 (26)

Dodgers Home Runs

Yasmani Grandal 1 (6)
