Norris Digs Huge Hole For Dodgers Against Nationals

Final Score: 8-1, Nationals

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Washington Nationals faced off Wednesday night with Bud Norris taking Hyun-JIn Ryu’s spot in the order. Norris did not do so well in this game only pitching five innings and allowing six runs off seven hits while walking one and striking out eight. What really did Norris in was the long ball; he allowed three.

Luis Coleman and J.P. Howell each allowed another run while Luis Avilan pitched 1 2/3 innings cleanly. The extra runs didn’t matter as the Dodgers were only able to muster up one run falling to the Nats.

Charlie Culberson (just called back up from AAA OKC) was the only offense the Dodgers would get out of Gio Gonzalez and that excellent Nats pen yesterday with an RBI single.

The Dodgers definitely did not have their best lineup in with Chase Utley, Joc Pederson and Corey Seager all being out. They did not lose a game in the standings, however, as the San Francisco Giants continue to skid losing their 5th straight since the All-Star Break.

The Dodgers and Nationals will finish off their series today with Julio Urias back up from AAA to make his start.
