Paul George Scores 20 In USA Victory Over Venezuela

As expected, the USA men’s basketball team blew out Venezuela easily, beating them 113-69. Paul George, returning to team USA after suffering a horrific leg injury in 2014, had a team-high 20 points. USA has cruised to a 2-0 start without LeBron James and Stephen Curry, proving Americans still have the world’s best basketball talent to choose from.

Kobe Bryant said it best while cheering on his cousin, John Cox, who plays for Venezuela.

Venezuela attempted to slow the pace of the game on leading to early fouls and turnovers for team USA. The U.S. then flexed its muscle turning up the heat both defensively and offensively. They ended the half with a 22-point lead over Venezuela.

Kevin Durant finished the game with 16 points, while Jimmy Butler had 17, and DeAndre Jordan had 14 with nine rebounds. Carmelo Anthony scored 14 points and passed Michael Jordan as the Olympics no. 3 all-time leading scorer. Anthony has a chance to pass LeBron and David Robinson as the no. 1 leading scorer.
