Rookie C.J. Beathard leads the 49ers to their first win of the season

The San Francisco 49ers will not end the season winless as they notched their first victory Week 10 against the New York Giants.

The Niners finally won a game! They did it at the expense of the equally bad Giants. Rookie quarterback C.J. Beathard led the charge for San Francisco in route to a 31-21 Week 10 victory.

Beathard threw for 288 yards and two touchdowns to go along with one interception.

After the game, 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan said,

“You lose 9 in a row, you learn to savor the moment and enjoy these.”

And savor this game they must because next week they play a division opponent and ex-rival in the Seattle Seahawks.

San Francisco can bask in the fact that they won’t be the last team in the NFL to get its first win; that title is once again reserved for the Cleveland Browns.

The Niners are still one of the worst teams in the league and will end up with a top-two draft pick next year, but for now they’re winners–even if it’s to be short-lived.
