Final score: 3-2, Padres.
The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their series with the San Diego Padres last night. Alex Wood got the start for L.A. and did very well. Wood threw six innings, giving up four hits and two runs while striking out a career-high 13 batters. Although he gave a great effort, he would render a no decision.
The bullpen did its best to keep the game in check not allowing any runs until the 11th inning when Chin-Hui Tsao walked one of the Padres with the bases loaded handing them the victory.
The offense was quiet last night as well. The Dodgers only runs came off of a home run from Trayce Thompson in the 7th inning.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts should have lifted Tsao when he couldn’t find the strike zone the two previous batters before the game-ending walk. Roberts’ decision to leave him in was questionable, to say the least. Tonight’s game will be the last of the series against the Padres and the Dodgers are looking to leave San Diego with at least one victory. Kenta Maeda will get the start after a last rough couple of outings.
