San Francisco Giants vs Los Angeles Dodgers Game 2 Recap

Final Score: 5-4, Giants

The Los Angeles Dodgers played the second game of the series with the San Francisco Giants yesterday. Scott Kazmir got the nod, looking for another quality start. After a rough first inning where he allowed two runs, he settled down and pitched five solid innings. He only allowed three runs in total and earned a no-decision. Kazmir’s problem yesterday was with walks, but otherwise he got out of most his jams. He finished his day having allowed three hits while walking five and striking out three.

The bullpen once again did very well up until Kenley Jansen came in the game. Jansen has had a couple of rough outings recently. Last night, he only got one out in the 10th inning before he let the Giants take the lead and win on a walk off by Buster Posey after Adrian Gonzalez had given the Dodgers the lead in extras.

The offense was decent overall. They had 11 hits and ended up with four runs, none bigger than González’s in extra innings, but Jansen couldn’t get it done and the Dodgers fell.

Dodgers RBIs
Yasmani Grandal 1 (20)
Adrian Gonzalez 1 (31)
Trayce Thompson 1 (23)
Dodgers Home Runs
Adrian Gonzalez 1 (6)

Tonight’s game will be Dodgers’ Julio Urias and Giants’ Jake Peavy squaring off to see who will win this rivalry series.
