The Los Angeles Sparks look to ride their two-game win streak at home against the Dallas Wings.

The Sparks had lost three of five games before beating the Seattle Storm at home and the San Antonio Stars on the road. Now L.A. is back home and looking to extend their winning streak by defeating the Wings.

The Sparks are coming off of a season-high from guard Odyssey Sims who scored 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting, and a triple-double from Candace Parker. Parker scored 11 points, had 17 rebounds and 11 assists.

L.A. is 16-6, second place in playoff standings, and the Wings are a sub .500 team at 11-13. But Dallas defeated the Sparks earlier in the season making the season series tied,  1-1. Sunday’s matchup between the two teams will decide the series leader.

L.A. is at home in front of their fans and will try to ride their momentum to a third-straight victory. The keys to a Sparks victory will be balanced scoring and the bench points they’ve been getting lately. The Sparks also have to contain Wings point guard Skylar Diggins. Diggins is coming off an 18 point, seven assist game against the Storm.

But most importantly they need to protect their leads. L.A. has had allowed opponents to creep their way back in games they’ve dominated in early.

If the Sparks focus on defense and play the entire game with the sense of urgency they start the game with, they’ll take care of business and take the lead in this season series.
