The Los Angeles Sparks sign guard, Cappie Pondexter, to add to their WNBA Finals roster.
Wednesday, ESPN W’s Mechelle Voepel reported that the Sparks signed the free-agent guard who’s a 12-year veteran of the league. Pondexter has been named to three All-WNBA first-team selections and won two titles as a pro.
Her championships came with the Phoenix Mercury in 2007 and in 2009, and in ’07 she was named the Finals MVP.
Pondexter is 35 years old but a tried and true vet that can provide more leadership for the Sparks.
In a statement released by Los Angeles Pondexter said:
Words can’t describe how happy I am to actually have the opportunity.
