Yesterday, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks squared off for the beginning of a three-game series. Mike Bolsinger got the start for L.A. against former Dodger Zack Greinke. Bolsinger pitched well for the most part, but through 4 2/3 innings he allowed three runs; just enough to give him the loss. He finished his day allowing five total hits while allowing no walks and striking out five batters.
The offense wasn’t much help for Bolsinger. The Dodgers’ bats got it going quick but couldn’t take advantage of the many opportunities they had to take the lead or even tie the game.
With the Giants winning yesterday, the Dodgers now sit six games back after losing three in a row.
Lately, the bright spots for the Dodgers have been pitching. Most of their starters have been great and our their bullpen has been solid as well. It’s the Dodgers’ offense that needs to start putting it together and maintaining some consistency.
The Dodgers will play the D-Backs again tonight looking for a better result. Kenta Maeda will get a crack at them against Archie Bradley.
